The United States has now officially lauded Director of National Intelligence — Tulsi Gabbard — for her “complex grasp” of the Indo-Pacific region after her recent India diplomatic trip. A statement from the U.S. Intelligence Community — issued following Gabbard’s NDTV World interview about the Islamistization of Bangladesh and its persecution of religious minorities.
While in India, Gabbard met with high-level officials in New Delhi such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Raisina Dialogue saw her delivering the key note speech explaining former President Donald Trump’s view to secure global security.
In an interview Gabbard raised the issue of religious minorities in Bangladesh and told the US views the situation there as a “big problem.” For example, and with the increasing threat of extremist ideology around the globe in global chains that promote this “Islamist Caliphate.” The Bangladeshi interim administration responded immediately to her claims, accusing her of misleading and insisting that they are resolved to find solutions against extremism.
Even the US State Department put its backing behind Gabbard’s position, commending Bangladesh for taking steps to secure minorities recently.
“We condemn violence against minorities and applaud draconian steps taken by Bangladesh to ensure security for all,” said spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
