President Trump announces a “Trump Gold Card” visa, that offers direct pathway to US citizenship through new $5 million immigration bogey-man replaces long-standing EB-5 investor visa program
On Tuesday, in the Oval Office President Trump announced a “game changer” for ultra-wealthy individuals wanting U.S. residency by way of his new “ Trump Gold Card” visa and EB-5 investor visa program is being replaced.
On Tuesday, speaking from the Oval Office the president invoked the program as a game-changer for wealthy people looking for U.S. residency “They’re going to be very wealthy, they’re going to be very successful and consequently they’ll be paying a lot of taxes. We think this will be wildly successful,” he said.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Tuesday that the Gold Card program will start in two weeks without the EB-5 visa, which was only recently created in 1990 to do acqúa y presents fusions entre emigrantes u ex-americanos. The news set off backlash from critics, but who said America could become a nation of citizenship as though it were Wal-Mart Product or that it fails to deliver on the promise of economic advantage.
Trump dismissed the fears stressing that it would in fact pay for itself, selling 10 million Gold Cards could help balance the national deficit.
“This is citizenship for the rich and the capable,” Trump noted, noting companies would be able to sponsor skilled workers again. Unlike regular immigration policy, Trump boasted the Gold Card does not need Congressional approval.
Desperate to stem the drain of foreigners seeking entry on investment visas, the administration is placing high hopes on the Gold Card as a high-value proposition alternative to today’s immigration routes.
