U.S. Secret Service shot an armed man outside the White House early Sunday after standoff: officials
Police were alerted on Saturday that a possible suicide bomber was coming to Washington from Indiana. Police found the suspect ’ s vehicle just a block from the White House before going in to investigate.
Following the shots, the Secret Service reports, the man drew a gun, encouraging the officers to fire shortly after midnight. The suspect was taken immediately to a nearby hospital. His current condition remains unknown. 
President Donald Trump was not at the White House at the time of the incident, as he had spent the weekend at his Florida property.
The shooting incident has brought increased security concerns to the perimeter of the White House complex. No officials have comments on the name and intentions of the suspect.
