Meanwhile, on prisoner exchange lists last updated Jan 1 Pakistan has 266 Indians (217 fishermen) while India has 462 (and 81 fishermen) of its own detained by Pakistan.

Accomplished through the latest prisoner swap updates between the two countries on January 1st, for instance Pakistan have 266 Indians (including 217 fishermen) as prisoners while India maintains 477 (and 81) of Pakistani detainees. .

Tension over diplomatic relations continue, but the release of these fishermen is a move in the direction some humanitarian cooperation. The bill from advocates around the country continues to pressure for early releases and reforms that prevent nonviolent first-time offenders from going to jail.
