Mid-air collision of two small planes near Tucson, Arizona has killed at least two people, authorities said on Wednesday.
The Marana Police Department responded to the crash site and told Valleycentral that two people were killed, while the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is looking into how the planes collided. The exact victims and what transpired hours before the crash are not yet known, officials said.

The event marks one of many aviation tragedies in North America over the last month. Only a week ago a pilot died when the private jet of Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil crashed on take-off from Phoenix and struck another aircraft. The latest mistakes include: Delta jet rolls over during landing at Toronto and deadly commuter plane crash in Alaska.
The deadliest accident happened in late January, with a U.S. Army helicopter colliding with an American Airlines jet enroute to an NFL game in Washington D. The next day a medical transport jet slammed into a southeastern Philadelphia neighborhood killing everyone on boardand 19 more were hurt.
Following a series of aviation tragedies in recent weeks, the aviation regulators are under hard line winds to improve safety. As the NTSB continues to dig into how the planes collided over Arizona, their findings in this collision could mean a lot for making flights safer.
