The Border Security Force of India arrested four Bangladesh nationals and three women at Teliamura Railway Station inside Khowai District of Tripura during a joint operation on Friday night. The Border Security Force official confirmed that the arrests were carried out using information gathered from specific intelligence reports.
The individuals who started their journey at Bangalore headed towards Tripura were caught by border security forces when getting off the Silchar-Agartala Express. The anti-trafficking unit from the Border Security Force performs thorough questioning to clarify why these people are traveling. The investigation process will finish after which the authorities will transfer detainees to local prosecution systems.
Under another interception the BSF stopped smugglers as they attempted to cross the India-Bangladesh border through Sepahijala district. A group of smugglers planned to throw a smuggling package across the barrier at Kullubari during Friday. During the operation BSF officers confiscated two packages filled with yaba tablets valued at multiple crores which would reach approximately $240,000 USD.
