Indian PM Modi Meets French President Macron in Paris, Strengthens Ties Ahead of AI Summit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his way to Paris on Monday for a three-day trip which received a warm greeting from French President Emmanuel Macron. The leaders greeted each other in a friendly manner at the Palais de l’Elysee before starting a series of important meetings to strengthen bilateral cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI) along with global partnerships.

PM Modi posted a meeting photo with President Macron and stated his pleasure to connect with his Paris-based friend. The bilateral talks between PM Modi and JD Vance focused on emerging technological development because Vance served as the U.S. Vice President at the AI Action Summit in Paris.

Both leaders will serve as co-chairs in the AI Action Summit which functions as a fundamental forum to develop international guidelines for AI management. Leaders from both countries will have bilateral talks about defense assets and technological collaboration along with renewable energy matters coupled with assessments regarding the India-France strategic partnership roadmap for 2047.

Large numbers from the Indian diaspora in Paris gathered through the wintry conditions to formally welcome PM Modi despite the frigid climate. Despite freezing temperatures many members of the Indian diaspora remained undeterred in their act of affection toward the visiting officials. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude toward our diaspora community along with his pride in their successful achievements.

The two leaders will honor Indian troops during their Mazargues War Cemetery stop in Marseille which the Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintains. In addition to the event PM Modi will establish India’s newest Consulate General in Marseille while deepening the country’s diplomatic and cultural ties.

PM Modi has made his sixth visit to France indicating the growing bond between both countries. Both leaders are expected to make important announcements about defense technology space collaboration and sustainable development during their meeting.

As global leaders gather in Paris for the AI Summit, PM Modi’s presence underscores India’s growing role in shaping the future of technology and international cooperation.
