Indian troops from the Army conducted major operations alongside the LoC to stop Pakistani BAT infiltration through the Krishna Ghati sector which resulted in seven troops being killed including 2-3 regular Pakistan Army soldiers in Poonch district Jammu and Kashmir. The encountered infiltration happened during the night of February 4 to February 5 while Pakistan marked its ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’.

The relationship between India and Pakistan deteriorated after India removed Article 370 protections in Jammu and Kashmir through its 2019 constitutional decision.
