The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi declared that India-China relations achieved major advancements because of the diplomatic breakthrough during last year. At the Two Sessions annual press conference in Beijing Wang emphasized the successful results achieved by all levels since Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping held their meeting in Kazan Russia.
The October 23 2024 Modi-Xi dialogue initiated border de-escalation by leading both countries to achieve complete troop separation along disputed eastern Ladakh. Wang explained that the strategic leadership of the two leaders enabled enhanced bilateral practical cooperation and exchanges during the period.
Following the 23rd Special Representatives dialogue in December and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s Beijing visit in January the alliance between the two nations advanced toward greater peace.
According to Wang China maintains that existing border problems should not control the overall framework of bilateral relations. Wang pointed out that both ancient China and India along with their significant global positions must work together instead of competing against each other.
According to Wang China favors “cooperative partnership” as the proper course based on his belief that nations must unite for global governance and prevent single powers from gaining dominance. Wang emphasized during his visit that China considers 2025 as a time to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations and remains available to collaborate with India for achieving a better future in bilateral relations.
