A passenger airplane with 176 passengers on board caught fire moments before takeoff from Gimhae International Airport during nighttime on Tuesday.
The Air Busan commercial flight carrying 169 people and seven crew members encountered tail flares right before takeoff for Hong Kong. All passengers succeeded in leaving the aircraft thanks to the emergency slide release procedure. Three individuals received minor medical attention following the evacuation according to Yonhap News Agency.
The fire department has not disclosed any additional information about the incident’s origins.
