A car bomb initiated by terrorists killed at least 15 people along with dozens of wounded individuals on Monday February 3rd 2025 near the Syrian city of Manbij which lies in northern Syria. A vehicle transporting agricultural workers became the target of the blast which resulted in fourteen female and one male fatality as confirmed by local civil defense officials. Medical personnel treated fifteen badly wounded women besides those who suffered critical injuries. Contrary to local reports, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that 18 female victims along with one male casualty died from the explosion.
Seven car bombing incidents have hit Manbij since the month of President Bashar Al-Assad’s downfall in December. Munir Mustafa who leads the White Helmets civil defense division stated that these bombing attacks will damage Syria’s post-war development because they disrupt security systems and farm production while destroying local economy methods.
This section of the country remains dangerous because Turkish-supported militants engage in battles against American-supported Kurdish-led military groups. A different car bombing in Manbij led to the deaths of four civilians as well as the injury of nine people only days prior. It demonstrates the unstable situation of Syrian reconstruction after demonstrating the difficulties that block its transitional authority’s progress.
