Amazon Set to Surpass Walmart in Revenue for the First Time

Amazon stands at the threshold of surpassing Walmart for the first time in retail revenue during a quarterly reporting period. Amazon is reducing the distance between itself and Walmart for total sales since its market capitalization has been ahead for several years while Walmart held total sales supremacy for more than ten years.

The LSEG has assembled analyst projections indicating Amazon will reach a revenue total of $187 billion as it enters its fourth fiscal quarter. Walmart will publish its earnings on February 20 where analysts predict sales will total $180 billion.

Walmart maintains its position of leading revenue generation with its annual sales performance exceeding $600 billion during the last two years but Amazon shows substantial growth. Amazon will achieve $638 billion in revenue during 2024 thus becoming the first company in its history to exceed $600 billion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) represents a crucial growth driver because this cloud computing division has enhanced total sales revenue by 17% while maintaining exponential revenue growth from 2020 onward. The Covid pandemic created a massive online shopping wave that caused North American e-commerce growth and enhanced Amazon’s local sales statistics.

As a title bestowed upon it by industry observers Walmart maintains its leading position in physical store operations yet Amazon intensifies its market challenge through its multipronged sector expansion.

Experts expect Amazon to overtake Walmart before long because of its retail dominance according to predictions about its annual revenue surpassing the retail giant.
