Tuesday President Donald Trump signed an order aimed at making in vitro fertilization (IVF) more affordable and accessible for U.S. citizens. His campaign pledge to provide universal IVF coverage seemed consistent with the policy, especially as his Supreme Court nomenklatura helped cede control over reproductive laws in numerous Republican-controlled states after he is inaugurated.
On top of the IVF order, Trump also signed a presidential memorandum for “full transparency” in fiscal stewardship of government. It formalizes the recently created Department of Governmental Efficiency, headed by Musk at a formal level to “find and cut waste, fraud, waste” in all federal agencies. But a White House fact-checker said later that Musk is not an actual employee of the government and has no authority over DOGE.
Other Democratic critics such as Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth disagreed with the IVF order and said Trump policies put threats on burgeoning treatments “in acute danger.” Duckworth urged the administration to push for IVF insurance coverage through legislation. 
That same day at a press conference, Trump said he has a “percentage chance” to stop Russia from fighting Ukrainian war. He also sneered at budget allocations in the U.S., with remarks upon funds that were being spent on voter turnout of India and varias social programs allocated to Mali.
Towards the end of the day, Trump headlined a Mar-a-Lago awards ceremony for America’s Future alongside former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn, musician Ted Nugent and boxer Mike Tyson. The event celebrated military service members and emphasized American values.
Trump’s policies continue to spark debate as he gears up for the 2024 election, with supporters praising his cost-cutting measures and critics questioning their impact on key social issues.
