Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian used the Islamic Revolution anniversary to launch strong criticism against U.S. President Donald Trump by accusing him of trying to make Iran submit to total defeat. Thousands of Iranian citizens united throughout the country during events honoring the 1979 revolution against the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi who received U.S. support.
Pezeshkian delivered his message from the celebrated Azadi (Freedom) Tower in Tehran to criticize Trump’s recent sanctions reintroduction by arguing the move belonged to a secret effort to destroy Iran’s independence. Pezeshkian declared to the crowd that Trump’s words about wanting to discuss with Iran fail to match his real motives thus Iran refuses to yield to foreign powers.
The celebrations initiated on January 31 gained extra meaning after Trump resumed his position as President. The combination of economic sanctions along with Trump’s decision to abandon the Iran nuclear pact during his presidential term has sparked fresh conflicts between the United States and Iran. Trump has issued a threatening warning that Iran faces complete destruction if he suffers any harm because he considers their country will be destroyed to the ground. 
People throughout Iran gathered in Shiraz and Bandar Abbas and Mashhad to present Iranian missiles and hold anti-American sign chants and wave Iranian national flags. مجلس Holders displayed pictures of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei while simultaneously showing banners representing Hezbollah and similar Tehran-affiliated groups. “You can’t trust America!” Teacher Parvaneh Samakhani at 52 years old expressed the prevailing doubt about American intentions through her loud declaration.
According to Pezeshkian there must be unity between all Iranians because Washington wants to utilize their internal disagreements. According to Pezeshkian the country’s problems would disappear when everyone unites together which received overwhelming support from the crowd.
Officials of Iran are encouraging their people to gather against American pressure during the country’s 10-day national holiday period. The diplomatic impasse between Iran and the USA keeps intensifying due to President Trump’s stern diplomacy and Iran’s total refusal to back down.
