The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Musk has started reducing the USAID workforce after Musk implemented significant staff reductions at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Trump expressed gratitude to Musk for his ability to identify wasteful federal spending because the businessman received praise from Trump through executive orders aimed at decreasing federal budget allocations after returning to power. Trump made this statement to underline his campaign pledge about eliminating government inefficiency even as he declared they would discover billions then hundreds of billions worth of fraud and waste.
The first significant step taken by Musk was the vacuum-like closure of the USAID that resulted in dismissing thousands of workers. The administrative plan to place 2,200 USAID employees on paid leave encountered a temporary judicial order from a federal judge. The president justified this action because federal funds were being improperly directed by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Trump emphasized the need for Pentagon spending analysis since its budget surpasses $850 billion per year. He reactivated his debateable plan to incorporate Canada into the United States as its “51st state while claiming that America loses $200 billion yearly from trade with its northern neighbor.
