North Korea Slams U.S. Secretary of State Rubio as “Hostile” Over “Rogue State” Remarks

North Korea launched a rebuke targeted at U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio for labeling the nation a “rogue state” while claiming Washington continues maintaining hostile policies toward Pyongyang. Since the Trump administration gained power again North Korea has publicly criticized it for the first time.

The North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson published through Korean Central News Agency criticized Rubio’s statements as both nonsensical and rude because he believed these words damage U.S. national interests. The declaration maintained that Rubio’s words strengthened Washington’s continued opposition towards Democratic People’s Republic of Korea which serves as North Korea’s official name.

During an interview recently Rubio described North Korea alongside Iran as rogue states according to public reports related to his SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show appearance. The use of such terminology by U.S. officials remains normal but North Korea intensifies its stand against diplomatic negotiations while opposing U.S. tension about its nuclear program.

North Korea has issued a strong rebuke although former President Donald Trump publicly showed interest in negotiating with leader Kim Jong Un while also calling him a “smart guy.” Despite expressing willingness to talk, Kim continues his pursuit of military growth through inspections of nuclear sites combined with year-to-date weapon testing.

The analysts believe North Korea avoids negotiations because it pursues enhancements to its nuclear capabilities. The exchange between the two countries illustrates that U.S.-North Korea diplomatic relations remain dangerously unstable since the Trump presidency began.
