Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a conversation with President Donald Trump on Monday to stress intensified bilateral efforts toward global peace and prosperity along with security. A week after Trump’s inauguration for his second presidential term in Washington D.C., Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar joined him at the ceremony.
I feel privilege to hold a conversation with my respected friend President Trump. The Indian Prime Minister expressed his joy about President Trump’s remarkable two-term presidency. The Prime Minister shared on social media that India stands ready to build “a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership” for both national welfare and global benefits.
During his second term President Trump maintained an active leadership role through diplomatic meetings with leaders from the United Kingdom and in Saudi Arabia as well as Jordan. The extensive counterpartship established during Trump’s first term made avenue for the strong meeting between PM Modi and Trump shown through their shared moments in “Howdy Modi” (2019) and at India in early 2020.
Head of the External Affairs Ministry Jaishankar attended the inauguration while meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as he led talks alongside Australian and Japanese foreign ministers at the Quadilateral meeting.
India and the United States have restarted their diplomatic dialogue to solve shared global challenges even though H1B visas and trade tariffs remain unresolved. A sign of India’s dedication to create solid international ties with the U.S. appears in PM Modi’s outreach as it sets the stage for new joint ventures across the next decade.
